![]() In the early 90s, Serres published “The Natural Contract,” where he was one of the first sociologists to address climate change and the transformations caused by industrialization, greenhouse gas emissions, consumption, and globalization. ![]() In many ways, my childhood self-embodied the visions of the French philosopher Michel Serres, whose work was part of the curriculum in the course “The Long Term: A Sociological Perspective on the Climate Crisis” at Aarhus University. I would roam around our garden without a specific purpose, getting lost in the grass in search of a four-leaf clover or exploring the kitchen garden for sprouting plants. As a child, I often “wandered around,” as my mother called it.
